Tracking my finances has always been an issue for me. As I get older and my finances are becoming more important/relied on more I find myself kicking myself in the ass more often because i'm broke. I ask myself,"Self? Why the fuck are you broke? You got a fat paycheck like a week ago and now you're eating canned soup and iced water. WTF MATE!"
I think it just comes down to budgeting properly. I think the proper phrase is to not spend more than you're making. Do not live beyond your means. Be happy with what you've got. It's all the same thing. Don't spend money.
I've been trying very very hard to not spend so much and I think i've been doing well. What i'm going to try to do here is start documenting what i'm spending my money on every paycheck. We will start with Sunday and work our way through the week. Some days i'll be more detailed on my spending, other times I wont be. We'll just play it by ear.
Friday - Sunday
Paid 60.00 to PUD
Paid Nat 100.00 for Utilities
Spent 103.00 at Costco (Half up on 306.00 worth of groceries w/ Nat)
Paid Taryn back 330.00 for all her help (Thank you so much baby!)
Went snowboarding at Stevens cost me 17.00
Monday, The 9th of March 2009
Paid 6.95 for a set of Bardahl Wipers from Auto Accessories
Bought a Hazelnut Mocha from Tullys 4.16
Tuesday, The 10th of March 2009 (Today)
Bought a Zebra Mocha for 6.90 (give or take?!)
Take note: I took a look at my bill from CarTender and I owe 154.00 and some change for that radiator... Not bad.
That's my spending so far. I've got like four dollars in my wallet and 65.00 and some change to last me till my next paycheck... This should be interesting, considering this Saturday is Taryn and my one year anniversary... : ) It'll work out.
